The Tax Filing Season is Almost Here

On Friday, January 31, the IRS will begin to accept and process individual tax returns. Hundreds of thousands of returns have already been prepared and stockpiled, and everyone is anxious to get those returns into the funnel as quickly as possible. Due to the high volume of returns, IRS acknowledgment turn-around could be unpredictable for the first few days of tax season.

If the IRS conducts preseason transmission testing, some returns may be transmitted prior to the official start date. However, we would not expect those returns to be considered officially processed until on or after January 31.

We will re-transmit rejected returns as soon as we have them corrected and ready. Again, acknowledgement turn-around could be unpredictable for the first few days.
